Scott is married to Karen, and they have two children: Adelynn and Garrett. Scott has lived in the Phoenix area since 1978, only leaving a few times for military service and to attend school. Many people find it interesting that Scott grew up in a Mormon home. He considers it important to note that he appreciates his Mormon heritage. Throughout Scott’s life he was touched by the grace of God by many faithful Christians the Lord sent into his path. In 2003 he encountered the free grace of God in a powerful way and it was at this point that he found new identity in Jesus Christ. Scott is unashamedly a follower of Jesus and trusts him alone for his salvation.
Scott enjoys reading, discussing theology, Mormon culture, racquet ball, hiking, Boy Scouts, watching movies with his wife, and playing games with his family.
Scott’s desire is to honor and glorify God by using his spiritual gifts and natural abilities to encourage, lead, disciple, and teach people how to have an authentic relationship with Jesus Christ. His passion is to see people embrace the free grace of Jesus Christ, to grow in that grace, be converted at the worldview level, and walk in the spirit of love and unity so beautifully portrayed in the Triune God.
Scott received his Bachelors degree in Philosophy from the University of Utah, a Masters in Divinity from Phoenix Seminary, and is currently pursuing a graduate certificate in Anglican Studies from Nashotah House Theological Seminary. Scott is proud to say that he served in the military for 13 years and worked closely with all four branches of the armed forces.
Scott’s ministry experience comes from serving in two parishes here in Phoenix, service on ministry teams in the military as well as experience from his professional career. Scott is a minister with the Evangelical Church Alliance. Presently he serves St. George’s Anglican Community as an associate pastor with focus on spiritual care and development. He is currently in the discernment process with the Anglican Mission in America. In addition to his pastoral work, Scott is a chaplain with Sunrise Health and Hospice and the Boy Scouts of America. He is also the founder and director of Interface, an organization involved in building authentic relationships between Christians and Mormons that places a priority on truth and integrity.
