I’ve never been a fan of the Health, Wealth and Prosperity Gospel. I have always believed that it is a false gospel…a lie promising material reward for faith. The problem with this gospel is that the Bible does not teach it. I found this video on another Anglican blog: Common Cause Priest.

Thanks for sharing this video. It is so powerful! I went to a great to a great conference last week in Dallas at Church of the Holy Communion where Bishop Ray Sutton is. The conference was called the Anglican Way Institute and was about finding grace in the sacraments. I believe they will be putting up notes and recorded messages. Check it out and let me know what you think.

Shane, we need to hear messages like this…straight out. We, especially in America, don’t want to hear about the glory of God our Father through the “suffering” of Christ and His glory revealed in us. It’s scary and our human nature recoils at such a thing. No one in their “right” mind would ask for this knowing the depth of pain and suffering it brings — but knowing the depth of joy, hope and presence in the “glory” of God far outweighs it all. OUR GOD IS GOOD AND HE IS ENOUGH at ALL times.
